Hate To Exercise?

HATE TO EXERCISE?

ADD THESE TO YOUR LIST…because they do not work!

CLIMBING  the walls

DRAGGING  your heels

GRASPING  at straws

SKIPPING  your meals  (may need this one more than others) :)

SPINNING  your wheels

JUMPING  the gun

PASSING  the buck

KICKING  yourself

STRETCHING  the truth

RUNNING  amok

CONNECT & REFLECT   Putting on the ole tennis shoes and sweatin’ to the oldies…just might be the best thing yet!  Sometimes it seems harder to exercise “self-control”!

Colossians 1:11  (Amplified)

“We pray that you may be invigorated and strengthened with all power according to the might of His glory, [to exercise] every kind of endurance and patience (perseverance and forbearance) with joy”

Looking Back With Thanks!

Monday, December 31st, 2012

Dear God,

Thinking back over this past year…I just want to say Thank You!

Thank You for being my God!  Thank You for Your unconditional love towards me.  I can think of so many times I so didn’t deserve Your love or forgiveness…but You loved me in the midst and forgave me anyway!

Thank You for Your deliverance from and through situations and circumstances seen and unseen.  Thank You for the angels You dispatched over me, my family and friends.  Thank You for what You spared us from…but even more, Thank You for what You brought us through.

Sometimes God, we look at this world through our own eyes…and it looks chaotic, kinda crazy.  We don’t understand so much and there are so many questions.  Thank You that you are still in total control.  Thank You that you are not offended with our need to ask why!  Thank You that in the middle of why…You are Present, You are Comfort, You are Peace, You are Restoration, You are Mighty, You are Hope, You are the Answer…and again, You are in Control!

Thank You that we don’t know what’s ahead in 2013…but we know You!  Thank You that You are the Way Maker.  Thank You that NO PROBLEM, NO SITUATION, NO HEARTACHE, NO DISAPPOINTMENT will take us out of your DIVINE INTERVENTION!  Thank You that we can have confidence in You and trust Your Word.

Thank you in the midst of depression…You are our Joy!  Thank You Lord that Your Joy gives us strength through tough times.

May my life this year represent Your Glory and be an outward demonstration of Who You Are!  We are lost without you…but because of Your Salvation…we are SAFE!  Help us share this Good news with the world!

Amen…and Happy New Year!

A Glimpse of Heaven

Wednesday, December 12th, 2012

by Joy Ware Miller

I caught a glimpse of Heaven today, The Son was shining bright,

His Words of life lifted me, just like a mighty kite!

No fear, no darkness or despair was there, His presence of calm was in the air.

Definitely hope was ahead of me, “You have nothing to dread” was His decree.

Focus on Me…and not what you see!

My love for you offers eternity!

Love, Your Father

CONNECT & REFLECT:  Keeping looking up and catch a glimpse of Heaven’s hope today!

Ecclesiastes 3:11

  • New International Version
He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.

What Chores?

Tuesday, November 27th, 2012

by my Guest Blogger and Husband, Charles E. Miller II :)

Friends do you recall being left a list of chores by your parents with the instruction that those chores were to be completed before your parents came home from work?

Did you ever squander those precious few hours after school playing, sleeping, watching what little after school TV was on back then?  Do you recall looking at the old clock in the kitchen or the earliest version of a digital clock radio (with the flip numerals and knobs) and panicking because you knew you had only minutes before your parents would be pulling into your driveway and YOU HAD NOT EVEN STARTED YOUR CHORES???

Remember that feeling of panic and the mega-hyper-speed you attempted to complete that list of assignments left by the folks?  Were you motivated by the fear of the wrath to come if those chores were left undone?

Guess what?

Jesus is coming imminently and He too has left us with a “chore list” which is short and simple: “tell those around you about me and the free gift I have for them called salvation.  It’s important they know of the options they have, it’s really GOOD NEWS!

Have you been wasting time trying to squeeze in all your agenda and just a few things that seem important then  I’ll get started on my “chores”?  Hey, Jesus’ return is imminent and while His love exceeds any love our parents might have for us, so does His wrath!

Get your work done, He is just about in the driveway and now might be a good time for us to hit the hyper-speed button and get focused and share the Good News that our friends have eternal options with a God that loves them!

CONNECT & REFLECT:  Don’t wait!  Look in the driveway!

Matthew 24:35-37 (NIV)

35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

The Day and Hour Unknown

36 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son,[a] but only the Father. 37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.

A Step Further – by Joni Eareckson Tada

Thursday, November 15th, 2012

This excerpt from A Step Further, by Joni Eareckson Tada is so powerful…I wanted you to read it today!

“The Bible tells us our God is so trustworthy that we are to throw our confidence on Him, not learning on our own understanding (Proverbs 3:5).  God has already proven how much His love can be trusted by sending Christ to die for us.  Wasn’t that enough?  Not for me.  I always wanted to be on the inside looking out – sitting with the Lord up in the control tower instead of down on the confusing ground level.  He couldn’t be trusted unless I was there to oversee things!

What a low view of my Master and Creator I had held all these years!  How could I have dared to assume that almighty God owed me explanations!  Did I think that because I had done God the “favor’ of becoming a Christian, He must now check things out with me?  Was the Lord of the universe under obligation to show me how the trials of every human being fit into the tapestry of life?  Had I never read Deuteronomy 29:29, “There are secrets the Lord your God has not revealed to us” (LB)?

What made me think that even if He explained all His ways to me i would be able to understand them?  It would be like pouring million-gallon truths into my one-ounce brain.”  (from A Step Further by Joni Eareckson Tada)

CONNECT & REFLECT:  God is trustworthy…with NO explanation!  Can we handle the truth? Hmmmm

Deuteronomy 29:29 (Amplified)

The secret things belong unto the Lord our God, but the things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all of the words of this law.
