It May Take More Than Glass Cleaner!

It May Take More Than Glass Cleaner!

Dust, dirt and grime have a way of blocking out the sun.  Those particles settle in and cause a film or build-up to dull the shine.  It definitely creates a barrier of perception.  We just can’t quite see clearly.
I think that sometimes happens in our lives and we don’t realize that dust, dirt and grime have clouded over our thoughts, dulled our hearing and clogged up our relationship with Christ!  if we were talking windows…just a good glass cleaner would do the trick.  But when we are talking about our hearts…it’s another thing all together.
Our hearts are our vibrant lifeline to Jesus.  Let the dust of complacency, busy dirt and lack of the Word grime set in…and we have let the enemy come in to set up house-keeping in our lives, our home, our future.
The dust, dirt and grime the enemy brings is subtle and designed to slowly cloud our thoughts, dull our hearing and clog our relationship with our Creator.
Today…let’s recognize the barrier and clean our hearts with His Word, His Presence and His Truth.  Our hearts can only beat vibrantly for Him…when we get the “gunk” cleaned out.
The Son is shining…can you see Him now?
Deuteronomy 4:9  The Message ~”Just make sure you stay alert.  Keep close watch over yourselves.  Don’t forget anything of what you’ve seen.  Don’t let your heart wander off. Stay vigilant as long as you live. Teach what you’ve seen and heard to your children and grandchildren. “

War Stories

Confrontation, in your face and behind your back!

by Joy Ware Miller – May 24, 2014

That’s high school in a nutshell!  Oh my goodness.  During middle school I had the wonderful opportunity to home-school both of our daughters.  What an awesome experience.  Believe me…there are stories to share about that too!

However, today…we’re talking War Stories from public high school.  Now understand…it’s not the kids, it’s not the teachers, it’s not the homework that is the problem.  The problem is the devil.  The enemy that comes to steal, kill and destroy lives.  This age group is so vulnerable to the plots and schemes of the devil…that all hell usually breaks out without a skirmish.  Not so sure about the adults! (ANYWAY)…

The enemy is slinging lies of self hatred, hatred of others, hatred of everything and anything.  So many kids are just mad…and they don’t know why.  Our culture has no restraints and says yes to everything that feels good, looks good, taste good and is fun for the moment.

Things look out of control!

It’s refreshing to know and hear War Stories of young adults who are praying and crying out for their schools, for their classmates and teachers.  There is a generation of those sold-out to Jesus and they are in our schools, they are on the playgrounds, they are in the lunch rooms.

My daughter recently said “this life isn’t easy, but God didn’t say it would be”!  “He just said it will be worth it”!  These young adults are praying for you, our families and community!  Every ambulance and fire-truck that goes by…these warriors are crying out for your protection and life for those you are rescuing.

Just when you think it’s over…the real battle has begun!  God is raising up those who will seek His face…and obey His voice!

CONNECT & REFLECT:  Always wear your armour…and don’t think you’re ever too young OR too old to fight.

Ephesians 6:11-18

Hate To Exercise?

HATE TO EXERCISE?

ADD THESE TO YOUR LIST…because they do not work!

CLIMBING  the walls

DRAGGING  your heels

GRASPING  at straws

SKIPPING  your meals  (may need this one more than others) :)

SPINNING  your wheels

JUMPING  the gun

PASSING  the buck

KICKING  yourself

STRETCHING  the truth

RUNNING  amok

CONNECT & REFLECT   Putting on the ole tennis shoes and sweatin’ to the oldies…just might be the best thing yet!  Sometimes it seems harder to exercise “self-control”!

Colossians 1:11  (Amplified)

“We pray that you may be invigorated and strengthened with all power according to the might of His glory, [to exercise] every kind of endurance and patience (perseverance and forbearance) with joy”

Looking Back With Thanks!

Monday, December 31st, 2012

Dear God,

Thinking back over this past year…I just want to say Thank You!

Thank You for being my God!  Thank You for Your unconditional love towards me.  I can think of so many times I so didn’t deserve Your love or forgiveness…but You loved me in the midst and forgave me anyway!

Thank You for Your deliverance from and through situations and circumstances seen and unseen.  Thank You for the angels You dispatched over me, my family and friends.  Thank You for what You spared us from…but even more, Thank You for what You brought us through.

Sometimes God, we look at this world through our own eyes…and it looks chaotic, kinda crazy.  We don’t understand so much and there are so many questions.  Thank You that you are still in total control.  Thank You that you are not offended with our need to ask why!  Thank You that in the middle of why…You are Present, You are Comfort, You are Peace, You are Restoration, You are Mighty, You are Hope, You are the Answer…and again, You are in Control!

Thank You that we don’t know what’s ahead in 2013…but we know You!  Thank You that You are the Way Maker.  Thank You that NO PROBLEM, NO SITUATION, NO HEARTACHE, NO DISAPPOINTMENT will take us out of your DIVINE INTERVENTION!  Thank You that we can have confidence in You and trust Your Word.

Thank you in the midst of depression…You are our Joy!  Thank You Lord that Your Joy gives us strength through tough times.

May my life this year represent Your Glory and be an outward demonstration of Who You Are!  We are lost without you…but because of Your Salvation…we are SAFE!  Help us share this Good news with the world!

Amen…and Happy New Year!

“Do It MySelf”

Wednesday, November 7th, 2012

“I do myself”

It’s an attitude we grapple with as babies and toddlers.  The cry of independence, “I do myself”.  I’m sure we’ve heard it and said it ourselves.

Our absolute need for God is constantly attacked with independence, self awareness, competition, greed and the desire to be in absolute control.

The issue is not what political party is in control of our nation.  THE ISSUE is who is in control of our hearts?  Who and what gets priority in our life?  What is our heart motivation?  Just sayin’!

Israel wanted a King…and they got Saul.  Israel rejected God in their hearts and that was so not good!

May our hearts be committed to our God regardless if we are republicans or democrats!

CONNECT & REFLECT:  Today, cry out!  Depend on God as your source.  He is in control and nothing takes Him by surprise!

Read 1 Samuel Chapters 8, 9 and 10

1 Samuel 8:4-7

“Then all the elders of Israel gathered together and came to Samuel at Ramah and said to him, ‘look, you are old, and your sons do not walk in your ways.  Now make us a king to judge us like all the nations’.

But the thing displeased Samuel when they said, ‘Give us a king to judge us’.  So Samuel prayed to the Lord.  And the Lord said to Samuel ‘Heed the voice of the people in all that they say to you; for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me, that I should not reign over them.’”
