Friends do you recall being left a list of chores by your parents with the instruction that those chores were to be completed before your parents came home from work?
Did you ever squander those precious few hours after school playing, sleeping, watching what little after school TV was on back then? Do you recall looking at the old clock in the kitchen or the earliest version of a digital clock radio (with the flip numerals and knobs) and panicking because you knew you had only minutes before your parents would be pulling into your driveway and YOU HAD NOT EVEN STARTED YOUR CHORES???
Remember that feeling of panic and the mega-hyper-speed you attempted to complete that list of assignments left by the folks? Were you motivated by the fear of the wrath to come if those chores were left undone?
Guess what?
Jesus is coming imminently and He too has left us with a “chore list” which is short and simple: “tell those around you about me and the free gift I have for them called salvation. It’s important they know of the options they have, it’s really GOOD NEWS!“
Have you been wasting time trying to squeeze in all your agenda and just a few things that seem important then I’ll get started on my “chores”? Hey, Jesus’ return is imminent and while His love exceeds any love our parents might have for us, so does His wrath!
Get your work done, He is just about in the driveway and now might be a good time for us to hit the hyper-speed button and get focused and share the Good News that our friends have eternal options with a God that loves them!
CONNECT & REFLECT: Don’t wait! Look in the driveway!
